Cleansing Rain

rain

She ignores the
rain clouds overhead,
bursting through the front door
under the patter of raindrops,
the water, pouring over her face,
cleansing her very soul,
the storm impenetrable
and unable to remove
the smile that had been planted
and rooted in the
fertile soil of her mind.
